Recently, Railways, defying its duty as a public carrier, has indulged in money making business enterprise. But the money is not supposed to be made by this public sector, but embark on policies, which shall ensure money is made by Airline owners.
Railways have announced Dynamic Pricing as done by the Airlines. But there is big difference : Airlines offer confirmed seats and there is a 'supposed' competition among Airlines, though they too have cartel, because profit at the cost of passengers is the prime concern.
Railways have no option. And the tickets are Wait Listed,. So the real reasons for "Dynamic Pricing' has to be understood.
Let us take an example of October 2016, and journey between Patna nad New Delhi.
Saturday 9th October, 2016 is Dussehra Holidays. 11th October, 2016 is Vijay Dashmi and and 12th October is Muharram. Delhi High Court, Schools etc are closed till Sunday, the 16th October.
So, if you have to come from Patna to New Delhi, and you have to take the ticket now. It is expected that train ticket in Rajdhani with Waiting List likely to be confirmed will be available only on 17th October. Now with Dynamic Pricing for Rajdhani, the Wait Listed Ticket has been raised inexplicably by nearly Rs 1000/- and the tickets for Airlines reduced considerably.
So, those who can afford to travel by Rajdhani can as well fly by Airlines, fishing out a Thousand bucks more.
So Railways do not give you the option of taking a less costly ticket for some other day, but to fly a Private airlines instead.
Railways loss is the Airlines gain. Government loss is Private Owners Gain.
And this is how Narendra Modi Government is functioning.
This is also why Suresh Prabhu is made railway Minister.
The sooner this is opposed, the better it shall be for the Nation and its Citizens.
Jai Hind.
